BAM Fulton Street Development

Kit Grover, in association with Bureau de Change Design Office, was commissioned by Brooklyn Academy of Music to develop the schematic design for their Fulton Street development. The design proposes to reconfigure and link the Harvey Theater to a large commercial unit via a vacant sliver site. This creates new circulation spaces, disabled access to the theatre balcony and room to grow for BAM’s visual arts and education programmes.

Monday Portrait: 38 Charterhouse Street

Recently our office was rushed into surgery for an emergency nip & tuck. We were cast adrift for several weeks-the separation, and the post-op recovery was painful to endure. Here are a few pics for a slightly different Monday Portrait.
The things we surround ourselves with, and the things we create reflect back our identity.
Without them we didn't know if we were Arthur or Martha.
Now that we are back, unpacking has been a joyful reunion with ourselves.  Our figurehead is back on board as we sail      through Smithfield

House of Voltaire 2014: Jeremy Deller and Silke Otto-Knapp

Yesterday was the opening of Studio Voltaire's biennial pop-up shop 'House of Voltaire'which they describe as 'a cornucopia of unique artworks, limited edition prints and specially commissioned homewares, clothing and accessories by leading contemporary artists and designers, in support of our renowned gallery and education programmes.'

We collaborated with artist Jeremy Deller to create a lenticular i-phone case for the occasion.
We also worked with Silke Otto-Knapp on this silk scarf which pays homage to the timeless designs of Yves Saint Laurent.
Other offerings included these painted utensils by Joanne Tatham and Tom O'Sullivan.

House of Voltaire will be open from today until the 20th December at 39-40 Albemarle Street.

Oliver O'Brien: Tube Tongues

UCL researcher Oliver O'Brien has used census data to create a map of London's second languages. From Italian in Highbury and Islington to Korean in Wimbledon, O'Brien's novel map provokes contemplation on our city's cultural landscape.

O'Brien has also produced lithographs, such as the one below, which simply divides the city as the Thames intended.
